Beyond Buds Marijuana Book Review

I don’t know how many of you have read an Ed Rosenthal book before, but they have been a staple in both mine and my friends lives growing up and we have always learned something from Ed when it comes to the garden and everything thats happening in the Cannabis Industry, especially Medical Marijuana. Everyone knows Ed has been a activist forever always standing up for the movement and helping progress is forward in a positive light. Whenever Ed is releasing a book as he is now it resonates with me and almost brings back a nostalgic feeling for me because growing up in California especially in the Bay Area I have been familiar with Ed for a long time and even had the pleasure of taking a class at Oaksterdam University where he was my teacher. I felt honored and excited that I was asked to review the book before it comes out and even have a chance to chat with Ed again at the book release partying. It’s as if life is coming full circle and the people I looked up to growing up are now people I work with and it feels great!

Let’s shift gears and explore the new book Beyond Buds: Marijuana Extracts–Hash, Vaping, Dabbing, Edibles & Medicines. As we all know there is a lot of information out there and especially with all the advances in the Cannabis Industry and we should all be up to date on whats happening. This is why Ed Rosenthal put together this book fro everyone out there to learn whats happening today in 2014 soon to be 2015. The first 4 Chapters go into making cold water hash and other advanced hash making techniques from picking material to use to dry sifting to cold water techniques of all sorts. Then Ed transitions us into vaporizing and really breaks down what it is and how it works also showing different options people have for tools to get there vape on with.

We all know that the Dab culture is here and not going anywhere. I’m sure you have seen pictures of wax, shatter and butter if you have not had the pleasure of actually trying it and let me share with you when its done right ooh la la as Frenchy Cannoli a great hash maker friend of mine would say! So that is exactly what Ed shares with you in the next few chapters of the book he goes over everything with dabbing and shares the different types of butane hast that is being made and the different processes people are using. This is very insightful for anyone who is still unfamiliar with dabs and the whole process.

The next few three chapters shift over more towards tinctures, capsules and edibles and different topical treatments. Basically focusing on all different forms of getting cannabis into your system and they all work great it just depends on what you are looking for as a patient and what your tolerance is that helps you determine the right dosage. I know that If I eat a indica edible most likely unless I am in a lot of pain Im just going to want to go to sleep but thats just me and if I need my rest this is a blessing! But Ed will get all up in this and share his knowledge with you and I know it will help you have a better understanding of how there are so many different ways to medicate besides just smoking or vaping.

I wanted to keep this review short and to the point because the book is a packed 230 pages of solid information and even has diagrams , Equivalents and Conversion charts as well as a glossary so you can look up words that you want to have a greater understanding of. I don’t think you can ask for more out of a book because it has a whole spectrum of the Cannabis Industry right now and whats going on at all these events and in medical and recreational states.
